Does anyone know the value of an original Winchester and also the Browning reproduction? A friend wants to know because he has one to sell. I don't know which he has.

I haven't seen a Browning 71 for sale in this area for years. Thye were going to about 900 to 1000 for the standard grade. The originals depending on condition are anywhere from 900 to 1500 in this area.

I use www.GunsAmerica.com to come up with a good cross section of gun values. Type in the search word, and there you go.

Standard Winchesters will run $800-1,200 depending on condition.

The deluxe Model will run $900 and up depending on condition. I've seen some really high up around $1600 when I was looking. (Them proud boys probably still have them too).

I bought a Browning last year, new, no box with a box of ammo for $600.

Prices will vary I imagine as to locality. That was here in Kentucky./beagle

Had two original Winchesters back in about 1968-70, both deluxe models and both in 90% or so condition, Sold them both for $250 apiece. I only paid $85 for one and $120 for the other about a year or so earlier so I figered I made out. When I see them now at the gun shows going for $1200-$1400 I get a little sorry for not only getting rid of those two but many others I would love to have back. A lot of Spingfields come to mind and some choice Mausers among others. Oh well, water under the bridge so they say. Is that the saying?
