This is my first post here and I want to say howdy to all the members here and it looks like a fine site dedicated to cast bullets. :) A local caster here on Vancouver Island , Canada makes me some awesome 420 GC cast bullets for my 45-70 Marlin.
I shot a good group of 1.5 inches at 100 yards and I'm looking forward to bagging a moose with them.:mrgreen:
In case anyone is interested the load is 40 grains of IMR 4198 under a 420 grain cast. Winchester LR primers.:Fire:

303carbine;
Welcome to Cast Boolits. The more the merrier.

My Marlin 45/70 also does 1.5" at 100 yards but with its favorite 340 grain bullet.
Pretty nifty hunting rifles for cast - hardly gets better.

Hi 303carbine...welcome to a great site...I just loaded up my first batch of 400gr 45-70 bullets yesterday with H4198 (31 to 37grs.)....didn't get a chance to try them at the range as it snowed today up here in the central interior! suppose to snow tomorrow also but be sunny for the weekend......you should try that load on spring black bear just to get tuned up for moose season....
