I just got an almost 300gr Mountain molds 'stretched and gas checked 366408.' I've done a lot of shooting with the original 366408, but only with 2400 and SR4759, and at low velocities.

I'm looking for suggestions. This will be fired in a Valmet 412 double rifle.

Nujudge;

There was some talk about cast bullets loads for doubles on the Accurate reloading site a year or so back.

I thought briefly about trying cast bullets in my 9.3x74, but decided that it is tough enough to get a jacketed bullet load to regulate after I put a scope on it, besides I have over a thousand 286 grain jacketed bullets on hand for it and that should last a while.

If you are successful, and I hope you are, I would like to hear how you worked up your loads for regulation, if there was any point of impact change and what kind of velocity you come up with.

Good luck.

I have a 290 gr 366-260-GCDD NEI mould. I cast in WW and size to .366" with Carnauba Red. With CCI 200s and 33.4 gr of AA5744 my Chapuis does not cross at 100 yards.

The Chapuis is fitted with a 1.5-6x42 S&B scope.

I'd like to try 0.367" to get better groups, but the load is adequate for position practice.

You really ought to look at the Double Rifle threads at AccurateReloading.com for information on the heuristics of loading for double rifles if that's what you have.
