How deep is the pot on a Lee Pro4-20?

Would one of you current owners of a Lee Pro4-20 melter give me a reasonably accurate measurement of the depth of the melting pot? I have located a source of precision thermomters locally and want to know if a 5" stem will be long enough of if an 8" stem would be significantly better.

You're in Luck! I measured mine last night for the same reason.

It's about 4" deep.

Of course I decided to make a PID controller so the pot would be computer controlled, but that is more expensive.
