Can we get this with .459-.460 diameter. Swede said he could do it , but is that included in this GB.

I spoke with him yesterday. It will have to be in another group buy with a different designer. It would be departing too much from the original design that we have permission to use. Someone mentioned a very lite (like 100gr) wadcutter. That would be possible with a different design. Put up a feeler thread in the Group Buy Discussion forum and see if you can get 15 people that would be interested. I can run it for you or walk you through running it so that you can be a honcho as well (its actually a lot of fun if you like tracking detail like I do).

As long as we go .454 I'm in for a 4 holer - 2@120 & 2@170
My payment will wait til we get close to close due to ball and chain
But you can count on me - I'm not JD Henry!!!!!!:)
Gota go pick up my Bisley now:drinks:
I just did the group buy thing for a 5 cavity, 250 grain in all of them.
This ought to add a little horsepower to a 45 ACP....especially in a S&W 625.

Idaho Sharpshooter and hicard, Please use the Group Buy Order system page HERE (http://www.groupbuys.dnsalias.com/login.asp). It will generate an invoice for you to mail with your payment and will give me your shipping information. If it doesn't work for you, we will certainly take your order, but it makes tracking the orders much easier.
Thanks

I'll let you know when it arrives.
Any chance of this being offered in your RG-2 or RG-4 hollow points? Little brother asked me, but is too shy to ask you himself...LOL.
I'd be tempted to go for a RG-4 on this one myself nyself, but this mould plus the RD 432 265 and the pending 357 200 semi wadcutter are going to have my allowance in hock forever. I'll be too broke for anything but cigars and reloading components!

EDK - SwedeNelson and I talked about offering this in a hollow point, but the fact that wadcutters are mostly used for target shooting it seemed pointless. :groner:
If you wanted one hollow pointed, it would probably have to the the 250gr. If you want to design a hollow point profile I am sure it can be done. Let me know.
ddeaton
09-23-2009, 04:44 AM
How bout a hollow base? Like the old 38 wadcutters. Most them were swaged though, were they not? Sorry, just thinking outloud. Gets me in trouble.
SciFiJim
09-23-2009, 05:53 PM
This would give you a great slug to start with if you wanted to swag some hollow base wad cutters.
ChuckS1
09-24-2009, 06:26 PM
How do you think this would shoot in a .45 Colt? Either the 250 or 170 grain?
SciFiJim
09-24-2009, 06:54 PM
Since it is sized to drop at .454 from WWs it should do very well in a .45Colt. It would be just the thing for CASS.
SciFiJim
09-24-2009, 10:13 PM
Just a thought (I'm likely to get myself in trouble with this one). EDK proposed hollow pointing the boolit and ddeaton proposed a hollow base boolit. How about ordering a hollow point mold and loading the boolit backwards for a hollow base. If anyone is interested I am sure we can come up with hollow point design. It would probably have to be limited to the 250gr cavities.

Now that is an idea! I'd like a 5 cav. 1 125gr., 1 170gr., 3 250s with one of them a hp pin and, or hb pin.
Idaho Sharpshooter
10-03-2009, 09:59 PM
I'd think the 250gr in HP from pure lead would be very comforting at 750fps from a Taurus titanium 5-shot 45LC snubby.
So, let me put an order in for a 5-cavity. Two cavities in 170, three in 250; with one of them (or 2) HPs.

Well I printed my invoice's out but couldn't see anywhere to put the weights.
Was wondering if I could change to 1@120, 2@170 and 1@250 in my 4 cav.
Do I need to write that on there someplace or do you just keep track?
Let me know if I messed this up or what not.
I'll funds on the way directly.

Perhaps it is too late to make any more changes on this one, but I wish there was a crimp groove. What I most wish is that you had made the next to the bottom band a heavier one so we could get a bullet around 220-230 grains. This would be perfect for lessening recoil in .45 Colt, yet also using up some of that case volume for more consistent target loads. The 170 grain strikes me as too light for that purpose.
To each his own, I guess, but I would sure be in on this one at around 220 grains. It would be good in the auto rim, too, and would hit near the sights in the fixed sighted 1917s.
