You mean RD as in Ranch Dog. Here you go. http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/TLC432265RF/

The RG type of molds are described here (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=56593&page=2). Check out post #22. It's a way of having multiple hollow pointed cavities on an aluminum mold. Sort of like a cramer type by different. The RG stands for Rube Goldberg.
Does the RD version of this bullet function good in a unmodified 1894 Marlin 44 magnum?
SciFiJim

If you are referring to a 444 Marlin, this boolit was designed for it.

I would like to order the standard 4 cavity all gas checked...This is my first group buy, and when I go to create a login, I fill in all my info I keep getting an error...all fields are filled in.

If you have created a login and are still having difficulty, please pm wiljen or felix for assistance.
The above is a quote from the Group Buy Order page. Either wiljen or felix can help you with the log in process. Please try them first. They have greater access to that page and can fix what needs fixing. In your PM to one of them you might copy and paste the error message.

Yes the RD432-265GR is for the .44 Marlin and the .444 Marlin. They also work good in .44 Mag Revolvers. :).

6pt-sika - I sent you a PM before I noticed this post.
For everyone that hasn't found out about this "innovation", I sent the following to 6pt-sika.
The RG mold is NOE's answer to a mold hollow pointed in the Cramer style. Normally Cramer HP's are done in steel or brass molds (aluminum is too soft). The RG molds have the hollow point pins attached to the mold blocks with steel "slides" that hold the pin but allow it to move when dropping the boolits. There are some pictures of it HERE (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=56593&page=2) in post #22.

I was in the Lee GB of this bullet a few years ago(265 or 285???) on Cast Boolits, got the mould and the damn thing was casting undersized,we sent it back twice was not real happy with it,but makes a good pp boolit.
Would like to get another crack at this boolit, use in my 444 & 44 mag Rossi LA,money is tight at the moment, but won't close until November, probably will be going for it.
I've got the RANCH DOG version in two AND six cavity versions. It works like a champ in my unaltered MARLIN 44 magnum Cowboy rifles...and equally well in any of a dozen revolvers I've tried it in. The only problem is that it is a gas check design and I really don't need them in my VAQUEROS/BLACKHAWKS at my comfort level of practice/utility loads.
If I read correctly, I can get this in a plain base or mix...and have until mid November to decide what I want. PLUS maybe I'll get some cash for my birthday next month to help pay for it?
Thanks for this design. I love the 360180 WFN in my 357s and I've been wanting a full wadcutter 45 for a long time (Jim got my check for that one yesterday!) Your crew does excellent work....only improvement would be to trough the sprue plate a la HENSLEY & GIBBS for enhanced production while ladle casting.
Thanks again guys...I'll talk to you with yankee dollars in hand later.

Swede and the guys will get it right. I've got the 360 180; ordered (and paid for!) the 45 full wadcutter; and now got to gather funds for this and the proposed 360 200 semi wadcutter. Only complaints are they don't trough the sprue plate ala H&G...and they keep coming up with moulds that I got to have!

I was fortunate with this in the fact that the FIRST design was called the 432-285GC and Ranch Dog let me have one of his four or five original molds . The mold worked well for us , but as you said there were problems with the group buy run by another here .
Later he changed it a bit a renamed it the 432-265GC as actually the earlier mold never made bullets quite to the 285 grain level .
When he came out with the 432-265GC I was again fortunate and able to get one of the original test molds and it worked great . When Ranch Dog got the 6 cavity going I again got one of those and I'm actually ashamed to say I have yet to use the higher capacity mold (already had a pile of the 265's cast up from the 2 banger) .
Anyway the next step in this equation for me is this 4 cavity RG mold . This should be very intresting to say the least in a 444 !
Now that the 432-350GC high capacity and HP molds are on their way in the next 4 or 5 weeks and this mold will hopefully be here by Xmas , perhaps we need to light a fire under the 432-300GC . I'd be in for a 5 banger and a RG4 of that one as well [smilie=s:

Hollow pointing one cavity and furnishing a double ended pin would be $35.00 extra
Any idea how many grains the HP cavity would drop at, since it's missing a bit of lead?
Although this boolit seems to be designed for a rifle, any idea how it will do in a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 revolver?
Thanks,
Randy
SciFiJim
10-27-2009, 10:14 PM
The hollow pointed boolit would drop at about 240gr.
It should work well in a RSB, there are a lot of loads listed for this weight and similar profile bullet. With a gas check it could be loaded up or down depending on need.

10-28-2009, 04:50 PM
Thanks, Jim -- by the way, does this boolit require a gas check?
I'd rather not use gas checks unless I really need to. I haven't received my RSB yet, so don't know how much problem I'll have with leading, which I know a gas check helps prevent.
This RSB has me tapped out financially, but I'd sure like to get this mold if I can swing it.

The default is with a gas check. If you wish, you can order any number of the cavities in your mold without a gas check at no extra charge. If you look at the orders in post #2 of this thread, you will see what other people have ordered as an example.

The RANCH DOG parent of this mould has worked well in my MARLIN Cowboys and assorted RUGERS. Only problem is the gas checks are unnecessary and expensive for my level of reloading. Swede and the boys did a great job on 360 180 WFN and now I'm waiting for the 45 wadcutter and this one.

I quit buying guns too, I will never ever buy another gun . My dogs told me it is OK to buy shotguns , they also said if I want to build another muzzleloader a fowling piece would be OK.

According to SwedeNelson's schedule HERE (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=68694) it is scheduled to run in the last week of January. So if no problems crop up with any of the other molds scheduled ahead of it, I should receive them in the first week of February. I usually turn them around to remail in a day or two. With 31 molds in the order it might take me a couple of days.

I will be leaving in the morning to visit the inlaws for a few days. Since they don't feel the need to have internet access I will be out of touch until I get home on New Years eve. I will answer PMs and questions then. My mail is being held at the PO, so any payments sent will be safe. Have a Happy New Year everyone.
[smilie=w: My 1000th post! To say I will be out of touch for a while.
