What wheight do you get with WW?

Would anyone be willing to part with a handfull of the boollits this drops?

Im looking for a heavier mold for my tight throated 300 whisper, and dont want to blow $60 on a mold that wont do what I need it to.

Any help will help.:???:

I have a 311365 PT-GC and Lyman says it will drop a 190 grainer with their #2 alloy. I made up some with WW and they look great! I haven't had a chance to load em...or weigh em for that matter, but definitely look good and anxious to try em out. Planning on heat treating them as I should have water dropped them.
PM if interested.

I have this mold and if I remember correctly the cast weight is close to 210. I could send you some to try. PM me your address. Just remember I do nothing fast. ;)

I have been using this bullet for years in my .30/06 #1 Ruger. Shoots well with Frank Marshall's load of 21 grains of 4759.

The one I have is a DC with one cavity hollowpointed. The "solid" cavity drops bullets that weigh 217 grains +/- when checked and sized.

I do have an extra DC in good condition that I'd part with./beagle

Apparently my 311284 mould is like beagle's. It's a double cavity and casts very close to 220 grain like his. This is also one of my favorite 30 caliber moulds and the one I use for my 30-06 and 30-40 Krag.

I bought mine in the early 70's. Shot it in a 30-30, of all things. Mine come in about the same, around 217-218gns, .311 diameter. Does fine, like beagles, with Frank's load in a Savage 30-06.

Dollar Bill:

I have a Stevens (Savage) 30-06 with a very tight throat and I have to seat the bullets very deep in the case. What is the COL on your bullets and also what is the nose diameter of your 311284's.
I want something eventually to shoot CBA at 200 yds.

Also have you or anyone else tried shooting the 311284 sans the GC ??

Thanks,
Gene Perryman

145773I hope its readable, This group was done at 100yards, with my Howa M1500, in 30-06.
I used the Lyman #311284 lead cast with the bullets that weighed 218gr with no lube or gas check. I then used Lyman's orange magic lube with Hornady 30cal gas checks
The OVERALL LENGTH IS : 3.266", however the lyman's manual's OVL works fine as well.
THIS POWDER CHARGE WORKED FOR ME, HOWEVER I WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR RELOADS : 13.0gr RED DOT ~ 1,350 FPS

145833I use the 311284 in a 308 Winchester. Although seated deep for a Rem 700 VS, it gives good accuracy at 100 yds.
