Ok, I have this Husky 5000 (maybe 5500) that I have owned over 10 years and have NEVER loaded a round into the chamber.

Someone gave me a few pounds of te 150s and it just seems like a great boolit to plink and play with for entertainment purposes only.
There seems to be a real lack of interest in 7mm Mag and cast.

Anyone have any suggestions for a load. I just plan to send them downrange for offhand practice.

Maybe as close as 25 or 50 yards because after all only perfect practice does any good.

Any suggestions?

Suppose you have the Lyman #287405?

If you like them and want more I have that mold.

In the old Lyman 45th. Acuracy load is 700x at 16.5 grains for 1798 fps. 34,000 C.U.P.

Here we go again! What 7mm Mag is it ? There is only about 20 different 7mm Mags out there. GabbyM will you load fit in a 7mm/357 Mag?

THE 7 mm Mag . . .

NOT 7mm somebodies last name Mag

NOT 7mm reference to time and western states Mag

NOT 7mm with combo of letters Mag

After all there is really only ONE 7 mm Mag.

It's probably safer to ask then assume anything when it comes to reloading. I'd like to hear more about people using the 7mm Rem. Mag. with cast bullets too.

I have Handloader's Cast Bullet Special Edition from 1992. There is an article by Ron Carmichael using a Savage 110 in 7mm Rem Mag.

That particlular bullet is listed in his data, WW or range lead with 1% tin added:

8gr Unique CCI 200 1152fps .70" at 50 yards
18gr Unique CCI 200 1838fps .65" @ 50
28gr SR4759 CCI 200 2102fps 1.4" @50
40gr H4198 CCI 250 2602fps 1.6" @50 ***mag primer and monotype bullet***

There are lighter and heavier bullets, and with other powders. I've never cast any 7mm bullets, so never tried them in my Rem 700 7Mag. If I were to load some, I would be inclined to use fast burning, flake powders, or possibly AA5744.

I loaded some cast 165 grn rcbs in my 7mm Rem Mag over 17 grns of unique. They shot well although I have no chrony. No leading at all checked after every round to be sure. They grouped extremely well at 75 yards and I did not try them past that as I only made a few up but I will make more soon.

Oh on a side note I did try lees version of a 7mm bullet but it seemed to be to short IMHO to work properly in this carttridge so I scrapped that idea.
