I'm going to get my wife to sew up some guns socks to store my pistols in for the gunsafe so I don't ding them up when moving them around. I have one to trace a pattern from and was wondering if there was some silicon impregnated cloth I could buy somewhere to make these out of. The pistol sock I have is flannel and not impregnated. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get impregnated cloth.

I think you could almost buy them cheaper than making them.

Yea, especially if I have to buy the impregnated cloth to make them with.

There are a lot of silicone spray preservatives available. Make the sock, spray it down, smile at your handiwork!

I just wrap things in old, 100% cotton t-shirt material that I've hosed down with silicon spray.
Works for me, no rust.

I like the old bore stores. The thick ones, but now they all use thin material I think. You may want to use thicker material for better padding if you're gonna make em'.

Buy the rifle/shotgun socks and cut them down to the size you wish and sew one end shut.

When I worked at Makarov.com we sold them in flannel and a light canvas material. The flannel ones wore out pretty quickly, but the others really lasted a long time. I still have a couple left, so this is a DIY project to see how inexpensively I could make these.

JC, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Some of us just don't like things sprayed with silicone. You better tell your customers what you are selling. BvT
