I slugged several barrels today.

3 American made 45 ACP's measured .4505/.451

Taurus 45 ACP measured .456 <--- (YES that is a SIX)

454 Cassul measured .4535/.454

450 Marlin measured .4565/.457 (I thought Ranch Dog says the are .460?)

S+W 357 measured .357 <---(as best I could tell with 5 groves)

SO what do I do. Dedicate one mold to the Taurus or size all my 45 molds to .456+?

Do I oversize the 300gr Cassul mold so that I can also use it in the Marlin?

I think the 357 is go to go as is.

P.S. I never had a problem shooting FMJ 45 ACP out of the Taurus.

I think I would choose one boolit style and dedicate that to the Taurus. It can be sized larger and be destinctive. Wouldn't be unsafe to shoot it in the other .45's, but all the other boolit styles will be inaccurate in the Taurus if they are sized for the other guns. Make that one style distinctive enough to be immediately recognizable.

FWIIW:

If this were me, and I wanted to go as minimal as possible but still have "proper" boolits for each gun, I'd have three molds - one for the 45 ACP's, one for the .454 and .450 Marlin and of course a mold for the .357 S&W.

The 45 molds would both cast large enough to handle the largest diameter needed and then I'd have multiple sizers to take the boolits down for the other guns.

I'd probably just go with a Gas Check design for the 454/450 too.

Which Taurus? I'd be looking for a Briley or other replacement barrel of proper dimensions if such is available.
