This is my casting setup in my basement. Been using this kind of setup since 1968 except for adding the Lee BP pot when they came out. I usually use two moulds when casting and drop into carpet lined boxes. I have never found it necessary to water drop my bullets.

Getting ready, hot plate warming the mould(s)

When the carpet area is nearly covered, I dump the cooled bullets into a cardboard box

Neat idea using carpet. A local hardware store near here has a stack of old samples from an out of business carpet dealer. Think I'll go get some.

I reasoned the carpeted box arrangement would keep the bullets from rolling too far. One of these days I might make them a little bigger, got plenty of old carpet. I know the bullets are too hot if they start to stick to the carpet. Get good stuff, not the cheap plastic.

What boolit is that, or the right in the second picture? 45 at about 250gr? I like the look of that boolit!

My next mold maybe...

lylejb - The bullet on the left is the RCBS 45-230 FN that I use for SASS loads and general 45 Colt shooting. On the right is the Lee 38-125 RNFP that I use for plinking in my 38 Specials. They cast out at the 230 and 125 gr weights in wheel weights with 1% Tin. I think Lee does have a 45 Colt bullet similar to the 38-125.
