I just sent an e-mail to lee precision suggesting they offer something like the Ranch Dog bullet in .432 and .460 gc molds and sizer/seaters to go with them. If they get enough requests, they may expand their line to include more suitable products. It's something to think about.

I can personally attest to the quality of a Borton-Darr bullet mould. I have seen them perform where it counts! Their casting qualities are dern near wonderful. the bullets fall from the mould. Of course, these are CUSTOM moulds Jim and Barry will work with you to fit YOUR rifle, etc.
Delivery has been excellent, also.

Borton-Darr Moulds specialize in moulds for competitive rifle shooting. Moulds are base pour single cavity made of steel with 3/16" thick sprue plate. Calibers .22 to .50. Each mould is made to individual client specification using any of our nearly 200 cherries, or made up to customer drawing, reproduce from sample, reproduce obsolete bullet styles or work with you in designing a bullet for your needs. We use a unique cherrie cutting process that allows us to tune bullet diameters to allow for a specific alloy shrinkage and/or oversize groove and bore diameters. No charge for making new cherrie cutters. Every mould is test cast to verify diameter and functioning of mould. Test castings are always sent with mould. Price of moulds is $115US, shipping included, handles $30 with mould order only. Our payment policy: do not prepay for moulds, "try it before you buy it" (within 30 days) If for any reason your not satified with our quality just return it.
I also have a complete 200 yard ballistics testing range like used by commercial ammunition manufacturers, with muzzle to target velocity recording, time/pressure testing, and actual ballistic data output. The test facility is used by us to develop new bullet designs.
Jim Borton has almost 40 years cast bullet experience and I have almost 40 years bullet mould making experience., both of us are competitive cast bullet rifle shooters.
I hope this helps explain who we are.

Barry Darr

my mould is excellent and by far the most well made one i own including an old saceo an old lyman and several lee moulds
does take a little more time to heat up but once i get it going the only time i have to stop is when the pots empty
the mould i have is a 2 cav alum in .454 an is a 330gr kieth style for my 45 blakhawk
some of the guys i shoot with say it sound like a cannon going off (now if i can just get a deer to come close enough i doubt it will go very far.

Hello all,
My first post here out of desperation
I have a percussion rifle with a .410 bore diameter which gets me stuck for all standard BP rifle bullet moulds so I figure I may as well try to get a mould of the original bullet profile. There are two I would like to try, both of which have a slightly unusual profile.
One is a pure compression bullet and the other is a combination compression/minié bullet. I have all the dimensions in metric. If anyone is up to taking the challenge let me know.
