I have a Bulgy (I think) ammo can, and it is a very soft dull looking color, looks like lead. I know it is sealed with strip of steel w/ lead melted over it.

My question: Is this container Tin? I took a torch to it and it melted nicely into a puddle, I believe it is... But I'd like confirmation first though.

That would be a stroke of luck!
Lets hope.

Do a zinc melting point on it first.

............Yup, probably pure zinc.

I would say zinc too. Tin would be soft and easy to damage. I have had best luck on tin at flea markets

If it is like my sons can, I don't think it is tin

Tin dont get dull like lead either. It stays pretty bright. Tin also makes noise when you bend it.
