I ordered a DC TLC 430-265 RF from Lee's closeout page. They shipped TLC 460-350-RF instead. I can use the mould with my SRH I think, but I already have a DC C452-300-RF that I got from RobS here on the forum that shoots really well.
Has anyone used the tumble lube boolit with the 454 and how did it do?
BTW, after some coaxing, its dropping .456 350 with my w/w.

thanks

A 460-350 RF would be for the 45-70 rifle cartridge. I don't think it would work very well with the 454 Casull, as it should be very over-size in diameter (the 460 indicates a .460" diameter), and a tumble lube bullet doesn't have adequate lube capacity for the 454 velocity/pressure levels. As it is a tumble lube design, I don't know if you could try to size it down to the .452"-.454" diameter range usually used for the 454 Casull or 45 Colt cartridges.

I was afraid of that. I messed around and cast a bunch with it before I measured one to see how it was doing. They look good if you turn the heat up. I hope they work with me taking it back or I might have to trade it off here.

ive used 4570 bullets in the 45 colt and 454 with good results but id think that sizing down a tumble lubed design like ranch dogs would about wipe the lube groves away completely.
