My friends grandkid left his box of Crayons in their car and they melted together. Can the Crayons be used as flux for smelting or anything else?

I use the crayons that my kids use to get at the restaurants as flux for my melts.

I use a piece of crayon to color my lube with it. Gave a friend of mine some "pink" colored lube and he nearly had a fit.:)

Looks pretty in a lube. I have used it for flux.

they make pretty good candles too.
throw some type of actual lube in them and try them or mix them with b-wax 50-50 and add a lube to the mix, like 20% alox some jpw and some lanolin.or some glycerin should make a softer type lube.

Someday I'm going to test this, but I've been told that they make a right fine .30-cal wax bullet just as is! Cut them to an inch or so long - and they're even paper-patched!

Back in th elate 80's/early 90's when the hard loobs first came along guy were using crayons as a lube or mixing them with other stuff to make lube. They don't work for crap as lube or as an ingredient IMO.

5-16 th's glue sticks measure 312 and work in 30 carbine revolvers pretty good with just a primer for target shooting in the garage too.
just remember the length is critical for stabilization.

Crayons can contain clays and such. I keep them out of my lube.
