First I would like to thank Ben, Eddy, and Paul who all made this possible.

What you are looking at is from left to right. Lyman a single 311466, and the rest alternate saeco 315, modified 311466 in different stages of completion.

Paul gave me an old single cavity 311466, Ben cast me a sample of the 315saeco, and EDDY did the magic nose form tool , and re-cut the mould.....thank you fellas :drinks:

My original intention was to shoot this in the 308win, but the cheap scope took a puke, and I got derailed while waiting to get a new scope and went into the 30/30's with this boolit. WOW.... both the 315 and the 466mod will do an honest 1.25 inch at 100 in the 30/30 pre 73 h&R LIGHTFRAME topper 158 (1X weaver) and I am sure they will do better when they are aged a bit and I do some actual load development...pulled the load out of my [smilie=1: as a good place to start from past experience with the 311291. The winny 94 with williams peeper seems to like them too...more boolits need to be cast for that...but it looks good. Charge was 28grains of H335...do not know actual speed but should be 2k or a skosh more.

Ready to shoot the 311466 mod weighs 174grains. As cast they measure .313 on the battom band and the bands slowly taper as you go up. The nose engraves perfectly in my standard 30 bores and is seated to the second loob groove from the top and very lightly crimped......now to find out how they work in the 308. I was not really looking for a new 30/30 boolit....but hey....gift horse thing and all...I am happy. :drinks:

I shoot the SAECO #315 cast 30:1 with 20.5 grs of AA5744 in my 308 Win loaded to a OAL 2.800" and have got a lot of groups under 1/2 ", my best so far is .305" five shot group at 100 yds.

That does look real close to a 315.
I just got a 315 mould a month or so ago, so it hasn't been that long since casting some. But still, if you handed me some of those, I don't know if I would have caught that they weren't 315s.

Here is one of the targets from earlier today. I did not get to save many as ma natutre kept trying to cry on me in between trips from the house out back to the range. That is why I just the heck with it and gluesticked some 1in squares to a box my manicure fan came in, instead of setting up the real target stand.

The 315 look-a-like group is the 5holes in the black 1in square from an old H&R 30/30. The group was in the shape of an H...hard to tell as it got wet while ma nature was :takinWiz: on me.

The group to the upper left is the rcbs 22-50FN over a light charge of unique from a 223 lightweight NEF barrel someone was goofy enough to sell to me recently.:bigsmyl2:

It looks like I need to load up a few of them too. I'm also curious how they do in the SKS. Now I need to make one for self! :bigsmyl2:

Both of those designs shoot exceptionally well in my K-31's and .30-30Win. (Marlin #336, Microgroove, since sold) and very well in my .30-06. AA 5744 is my powder of choice for the '06 and K-31, but WC 820 (AA #9 burning rate) ain't bad either as is H/IMR 4198.

I shot a few different charges today. It looks like 29.5 grains of H335 is going to be the load for now in the H&R 30/30. Will make some more at that charge and go test them further when satan closes his doors and it cools down a bit.
