The big brown truck of happiness left a package!
A .54 R.E.A.L. and a .54 Minie' mold from Lee.
No load data for the Minie' though. I am suspecting 60gns of RS (Pyrodex) will do the trick.
Ingenious Minie' mold!
Looking forward to casting with it.
My wife will get to try a set trigger for the first time on her rifle.
Anybody got a good load for a .54 Minie'?

I did some experimenting with my TC .54 awhile back. I ended up shooting 85 grains of rifle pyrodex under a 435 grain mini slug. This worked out to be a 45-70 case full of powder. Both I and my brother ended up with the same reload independently. I'd expect that you too will find that you will also come up very close to 85 grains in your testing. So far between the two of us we have taken 7 elk in the past 6 years with that reload. Good luck.

That sounds good.
I had figuired to start at 60gns. It is for the wife, and she is recently from Yuppie land.
We will work up to the 85gns. I have a .50 also. I will be getting a Minie' if I like the one my wife has.
The R.E.A.L. is a good load in my .50, and her .45. I have a 1/48 twist, and she has a 1/66 in her .45. They land where they are pointed.
I figuired, we would fire four, then a R.E.A.L. It scrapes fouling down real well.
Thanks for the benchmark.

You could starts at something like 50gr. with the minie and probably still have a desent plinking load that will be fairly accurate.
