Anyone wanna suggest a 15 yard wussy load? Three grains, maybe? Powder is viable, as I've already used some. Got boolits ready to go. Go primed cases ready to go. I'm thinkin' a Sunday afternoon behind the barn plinkin' cans and eatin' watermelon - wash hands in between both!

3.0 grains sounds pretty good to me.
The second edition Lyman Pistol and Revolver Handbook lists that bullet. (Third edition doesn't)

Red Dot powder
Starting load: 2.8 grains - 706 fps - 9,500 c.u.p.
Max load: 4.2 grains - 961 fps - 16,300 c.u.p.

I need to do this as well.
I bought a 2-cavity 358495 from cabezaverde in the swappin and sellin forum back in January.
Haven't even casted with it yet.
Good grief, someone needs to take a horsewhip to me.

I use 4.0 of RD(new) in 45C for CAS, pushes a 260gr rnfp to 750 in my wifes 3in Uberti thunderers.

You might want to back that 3grs off to 2.5 with that old stuff. The kido's will like it better.

You ready fot the state milbolt shoot? Be good to see ya again!!

I have loaded several thousand rounds of .38 spec. for my wifes gp 100 using red dot that is still marked as Hercules , from the early 60's ( was given a 23 lb keg as a wedding present ) and it shoots just fine with 2.3 gr. behind a 148 gr w/c and wsp for around 700 ish fps and next to no recoil and muzzle blast is nearly non existant ,and accuracy is fairly decent out to 25 yards to boot !

Thanks, fellers. Keep it coming. Just shot a couple rounds in the dark with 3 grains and just a little whitish-yellow muzzle flash and a couple sparks. Mild recoil. Cases clean. Bore clean. Gonna have to squeeze them down a might more as .360 makes a bulge in the case and tight loading - one more pass through the loobsizer with a smaller die.

Jake, 45 Colt is what I tested this powder in when I got it. This stuff might be middle 60s at the latest, prolly older considering source. Smells fresh and shoots okay in 45 Colt. About the Mil bolt match in Oct - yeah - ready to kick butt. If I can't do that, gonna have a good time anyway. Looking forward to seeing all my friends! Just like a family reunion!

Back in my "salad days" of my youth I comsumed many lbs. of 3 powders and 148 gr. wadcutters. The powders were Red Dot, Winch. 231 and Hogdon HP-38. I used 700-X at one time but found it dirty. The loads were all 2.7 on up to 3.5 gr.Robert
