What diameter do you size your 9mm cast boolits to? I have just cast up a bunch o Lee 125gr. 2R boolits that are dropping from the mould at around .358
' .359" and was going to size them in a Star .357" dia. die. I sized my Lee 102 gr. 1R cast boolits for the 380 with the same die and had no problem with chambering or leading. My alloy is running about 18 BHN and I will be using Lar's BAC lube with a 3/8" slice of Carnuba Red melted in. So guys, what size are you sizing to?

It pretty much depends on the bore size of your gun from what the guys say. Although I have not slugged mine , I have been sizing my boolits to .356 and have not been getting any leading in my KP95, PT92 or my PT111 Mill Pro. Have been casting Lyman 147gr FP, Lee 124 TC-TL ,Lee 358-105 &140- SWC. All give me good accruacy and have been having a ball casting.

.357"
My Saeco #377 TCFP 122 grain cast just at .357" and a little under on the narrow direction of out of round. Not enough under to let the lube squirt out in my Star sizer so it's good to go. Since I cast 9mm hard this minimal sizing saves a lot of elbow grease and they seem to work better or maybe it's in my head.

Been shootin 356 through a model 213 Norinco for 20 plus years with no leading issues at all

Thanks guys, I think I will try them at .357" to see how they work. I am too lazy to slug the bores right now and will just size so they chamber easy. It seems like most of you are sizing .357+ and that sounds good to me.

I am currently casting the same boolit and also sizing at 357 in my Lyman and lubing with Carnuba Red. I am shooting out of XDm and after about 150 rounds I am getting just a hint of leading. I am going to chrono a few of my loads when I get a chance. How do you melt the slice a CR into your BAC? Pan them pure in sizer?

Doesn't matter what I size them at. Don't get any leading, but I don't get any consistent accuracy, either.

I'm done with casting for 9mm.

I melt the BAC in a thrift store sauce pan and slice the CR off and melt it in and mix it. Then I pour it in the the Star luber. The added CR makes for a slightly stiffer lube that skins over and is not sticky to the touch at room temperture. I use a little heat when lubing so it flows easy.

My P1 chambers -402's sized to .357, and also Lee 105's sized to .358. I say load the largest diameter that will chamber reliably.
