I'd like to shoot the 358009 about 1,650 - 1,700 fps out of my Weatherby 358 Win.

Catch is........not much loading data for this particular bullet in the 358 Win. My 358009 bullet is sized to .359 " with lube and g/c , it is weighing 292 grs.

Anyone with a " proven " accurate & safe load in this arena that they have tested in their rifle ? ?

Ben, I've been using WC 852, and WC852(F) behind the Bator heavy, which is pretty much a clone of your boolit. Pretty much fill to neck, and seat the bullet in my rifles. Velocity runs around 2080 fps, groups at around an inch at 100 yards.

I've got the custom 358Win carbine, and a new, virgin 358009 mold, just waiting (lurking???) for someone to bring up this very question! ' been shooting 200gr j-word projectiles, and RCBS 200gr FPGC for years, planning on going heavier this year, after I get over this (*&T^^)) back surgery-- I'm healing, so let's get to it!
I've collected the Lyman 215gr SWC, 358318, RCBS250SP, SAECO 248gr GC, and the 358009, so I'm ready to go-- got lots of data for the 200-250 grain loads, so your recommendation for the "big boy" 280+ are certainly welcome--
Anybody got ideas for other powders? Perhaps WW748, 760, H414, etc????
Let's see what you're shooting, guys!

waksupi :

I've got plenty of WC- 852 F. I'll give it a try.
Do you remember how much 852-F you were shooting
with the 358009 ?

Many thanks,
Ben

Yes, I'm with you........I'd like to see some load data for canister powder like RL-7, IMR 4895, W-W 748, etc.
