I could use some help. I just picked up a Lyman 2 cavity mold today but the mold number is 429421EX

Anybody out there know what the EX designation means?

Many thanks in advance....Duck

There's all kinds of production stamps on Lyman moulds, unless you contacted Lyman with your question it'd be hard to say.
I've got'm with J's, B's, QS, the list is quite long actually.
Could be a cherry designation perhaps.

Just a cherry number or code to match the halves.

I think that is used on the "EXtra good" molds. . . . .

The only one I know is the "U" which apparently means undersized,
not normally something that is of much use, but I guess it is good
to mark them.
