It seems to me I remember reading something about not cleaning your gun barrels with any lubricant or cleaner containing Teflon. What is the recommendation of mixing a teflon grease in with bullet lube, yea or nay?

Hey runfiverun, i ain't sure what florine gas is, but i am pretty sure i have enough gas already, was just wonderin' if that nasty ptfe would leave some kind of coating in the barrel that might influence accuracy in a negative way. Thanks:Fire:

I've wrapped boolits in teflon tape before and shot them. Did a good job, don't remember anything unusual in the bore when I cleaned the guns.

Les Baer (latest issue of American Handgunner) is flat against using moly coated bullets in his .45's. He states that it promotes rust in the barrels.

runfiverun is correct. The gas however, is spelled "fluorine", and can be a serious health issue. It is also corrosive.

flourine gas was one of the ones used in ww-1 btw.
ptfe is[ poly teflon floro ethylene] and i am pretty sure i mispelled everyone of those 4 words.
