So I've been shooting .300 Whisper for a while now. All last week I was thinking "Man, I should get a heavy .30 caliber mold to play around with"

So a few nights ago I put an order in at midway for a 200 grain .309 bullet mold. According to them it's shipped but I didn't receive it yet.

So literally 10 minutes ago I am going through my shooting supplies, organizing stuff, you know. I find a box of things and I recognize it as a box that was sent to me from Midway back in november.

And what's in it? A HEAVY .30 CALIBER MOLD

Yes, gentlemen. I ordered this in November when I started getting into .300 Whisper and completely forgot I already owned it

So here I am, nine months after I ordered this, and I completely forgot I already owned it. And I just ordered another one.

I'm 24. This shouldn't be happening yet. I don't want to be senile. I thought i had a good 60 years.

I tell you one thing: I'll never make fun of my dad for being old ever again.

Edit: Hopefully they will refund me the cost of the mold, but they better not refund me the shipping cost, because it's my fault, not theirs. Also when I return it I will totally pay to ship it back.

So i'm honest. Honest but stupid.

Remember, the fan is supposed to blow the lead fumes AWAY from you!

Moulds are a little hard to get, might want to offer it on the Selling & Swapping.

Better check the gun safe, you might have another 300 Whisper that you forgot about.:kidding:

'Course I shouldn't talk, I somehow would up with three sets of .358 Win dies.
You would think that a person would remember that sort of thing.....

The extra mold you can live with.

Right about now I'd be wondering how many wives I had?

That could be a problem!

Try the one you have out before returning the new one. With the stuff the big three are putting out you'll be lucky if either one is any good before a rework.

And what problem is it that you think you have? This is about normal for me. :-)

Let's see, two 430 size dies, three sets of .39/357 dies - all carbide, and a box of .311 bullets for which I have never owned a rifle. And that's just what I know about!

Every now and then I clean!---SCARY isn't it? :bigsmyl2:
I find all kinds of goodies, tools and such so I set them aside. Then I forget about them again and never remember what I found or where I put them anyway. :veryconfu

Steve, every day is Christmas! Just clean up something different each day and each day you'll have a new surprise to discover, heck you might even discover the same thing over and over and over again! Welcome to the "sometimers" club!

You know what they say, "The memory is the second thing to go". Damn if I can remember what the first thing was though.

I was getting out a top punch the other day and kept finding top punches for my .416, I have 3 punches for the same boolit now! I also came across 2 new in the box HP LEE moulds for the 44 and 38 I don`t remember buying, they`re being used now. Getting old is like having X-mas everyday with new discoveries when you clean your bench off.;-)Robert

I have to admit that at 44 I was cleaning my gun closet and found a really nice old damascus barreled double, I totally forgot I had. It was soo neat to see it again. Stuff happens.

Yeah,

I have the same problem. Must be overexposure to lead.
Sometimes I find that I forget things I did only one minute ago.
Does anyone know of a cure?

I got the two molds in hand but of course I don't have the time to cast, what with working five nights in a row.

I earn the money to buy the molds but i never have time to use them :(

I'm off tomorrow (thank God) and I'll probably be casting like mad all day.

I'm a little older so I have an excuse.

I bought a 44 Spl die at a gunshow a few weeks ago. When I put it away in the loading cabinet, it fit nicely beside the other two I thought I loaned to my son:oops:

Wayne,
The box of .311 is only an excuse to buy the next rifle.........just one more iron in the fire.
I think we're all guilty of that.

True that, I've been keeping my eyes open for an Argi but haven't run across one yet. No, I'm not searching for one, either!

Hey Jon K, I'm interested in an extra set of 357 carbide dies if you decide to sell one. If so, just pm me. Thanks

Me? I'd keep both. The extra is for the day I forgot where I put the first one!!!!!!!

Now, if you want to be practical about this, instead of spending money out of pocket, sell the mould on e-bay as a "Rare, 300 Whisper mould" and you'll double your $$, as well as getting someone else to pay the postage.

Regards,

Stew
