I am wanting to see the expansion of my air cooled clip-on ww in 357 and 44 mag.

How are you capturing the bullets for expansion analysis?

Those do look good! (Don't forget to take pics of the loaded rounds). I'm also interested in how you will capture the boolits and how they will perform. I did my capturing in a steel tube filled with wet rags and sand at the bottom. One test I did was with a low velocity HP into soggy paper. (Air cooled WW)

honestly, my test medium really means nothing to scientifically test . I just shoot them into the mud bank across the creek and go dig them up. I always supprise people with how deep a bullet will penetrate when launched around 1,000 fps, some times up to 30 in, then they get all excited to see how far a fast bullet will penatrate, and do not understand why a 1,500 fps load only went half as deep. then I blow there mind when I fire a MAX load and the bullet is laying in a shallow large diameter crater. these are the same experiences I have with hunting deer, so that is why I continue to test this way. works well enough to suit me.

Thanks Treerat, that is what I have been doing, too. Want to try what 303Guy is doing.

Hopefully this coming hunting season I will find some real test medium.
