My indoor/outdoor thermometer topped out at over 119F this afternoon around 1500 hours. It's 20 after 4 now and has cooled off considerably. It's all the way down to 115 now.

Regards,

Stew

Ever think about a solar powered smelter ?
With the heat and I am guessing the hot sun
It would be a cheap way of smelting ingots

That is .....if you didn't melt your brains doing it LOL

Coldest summer I can remember in SW Michigan in a long long time. Usually by now we have those 75 degree low muggy but nights to suffer through, Friday you needed a sweater on.

About 74 here today, was almost long sleeve wx Saturday. Its been a mild summer this far. Hope it stays this way but I kinda doubt it with Aug around the corner. Yep, I predict those muggy nights are coming. Anyway, you know the saying about if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen............

One thing about it though, you ought to have some mean Sun Tea in AZ.

Muggy don't work at 74dF. When i quit outside today and jumped in the pool it was 102df - in the shade - on three different thermometers We had a thunderstorm early this morning that dropped maybe a quarter inch in about twenty minutes. Muggy? Naw. Steam bath.

Gee we set a record low two nights ago, it got down to 55 during the night. Still getting up in the 80's and 90's during the day. Here on the river it's almost always muggy.

95 in the back yard at 6:00 PM!

Buddy of mine moved to AZ 5 years ago ( Surprise area) He spent 6 months trying to talk me into going with him Kept telling me the average temp was 92!

Lost track of him about a year ago. I feel strongly that he's melted and he's to stubborn to call and admit it to me!

Stew I think the summer is only going to get hotter! I also have a bad feeling in my bones that some guy in El Centro is gonna call tomorrow and want a sweeper demo.

This time of year it's 115 in the shade by 9:00 AM in that part of the state!

Keep cool guys!

We've been about 10-12 degrees cooler for about 5 days now, around 90 for a high. It's amazing how much better it feels. Got 3/4 in. of rain Friday and 1/4 in. Saturday. Nice.

I must be nuts and my wife agrees. I went out in my garage this morning and made up about 200 bullets. Wanted to try out a mould I just got and was tired of sitting around all weekend avoiding the heat. Don't know how hot it got today but it's been getting around 115 or so.

about the same here. That's nice after the last two or so weeks of 99+ days with 70% h2o in the air.

Well it was a little cooler here today I didn't check for sure but I think less than 100. Lately it's been over 100 for about 3 weeks.
I came home from work Sat. morn. at 0630 and it was 74 this was about 4 or 5 degrees cooler than it had been for a while.
Today started off overcast and cooler then about 3 or 4 pm the clouds burned off. Still didn't get as hot as it has been for a while.
No rain here and we need it badly. There have been a few rain showers around S.A. but not here....Wes

Oh I forgot to add that my wife has been in Mich. and Penn. for the last week and has nearly frozen. She said it was 63 in Erie, Penn. Sat. with rain. She can't tolerate much cool weather becuse of medical conditions. She will be glad to get back where it is warm. I don't know if the currant temps. will be too much or not...Wes

Running around 112*-116* for the past several days here. Thunderheads came boiling over the Sierras today, a small amount of rain in town, but it looks like a few areas on the Navy Base got walloped with rain. Same thing happened last summer, so we take it in stride hereabouts.

Set a record here @ 109, then sprinkled rain and ran the dew point up to 61. Hot is just hot, but hot AND humid is AWFUL!

30 miles SE of Tulsa Int'l which is 94. 100dF right now on the homestead on 3 different thermometers in the shade and humidity is up there. Storms and rain tonight and cooler tomorrow. Watched several columns churning up that will be full blown thunder bumpers later. Went for a walk with the dogs a little while ago, and they were glad when we got back - good thing the water bowls were full - gonna have to refill them....

An inch of rain last night and this morning it was 60 degrees. Mostly mid 80s in the evenings.
Now don't all of you move here at once.

We had a really good artillary barrage this morning just before daybreak. Then it started raining. Really cooled things down. This afternoon, about 5 or so, it was 63*.

We've been setting records for cold in Kansas. I haven't been using any significant amount
of air conditioning in the car for a week or more. This is not the normal July in Kansas, not
a complaint, it is great.

No kidding, Mtn Gun--enjoy it while it lasts!

About 2 P.M., Marie and I took a little drive to her sister's place on the other side of town. We both remarked as we walked out to my truck that it didn't seem so hot today.

Once in the truck, the temp gauge showed 110*. We're acclimated, I guess. SBIs, for sure.

It's 10:20PM, still 92 degrees, but the humidity is down to 65%. Last night it went down in the 70s and I nearly froze.

We had a cooler 4th of July than usual - upper 70's. It's usually much hotter than that (90ish) and lot's of humidity (70% or so), too. But, when it's cooler like that, we sometimes get bad winters- 30 below zero or 5 feet of snow, sometimes both. Do ya reckon that is a sign of things to come?

With economy and jobs like they are, someone needs to figure out how to bottle that extra heat you have now, and send it our way later this year. Although, you would think our proximity to D.C. would keep us snow-free! Wind is wrong, and they vacation too much.

Last Friday I was out looking for WW at the scrasp yards. All I could find was 2 large pallet boxes with all kinds of lead in them. Had to sort thru the scrap to find the clip-ons. It was about 1:30 p.m. when I started, in the sun, 114' in the shade. One soda, 2 bottles of water and I still only lasted about an hour. Filled one bucket and quit.

All the yards I hit told me they had just shipped the WW overseas. China?
