I got some fine results yesterday paper patching the Lee 358-158RF, loaded in 357 mag. with 14.5 gr. H4227. Firearm is a Rossi M92. Estimated velocity is 1600 fps.

Here is the 25 yard target.
14766

And here is the 100 yard target.
14767

The target is clear enough at 100 yards, but the front sight is fuzzy, due to my middle aged eyesight. Practice, practice.

I am using 2 wraps of Bugler of cigarette paper cut to length. The lead is air cooled stick-on ww.

I was a little high at 25 yards, and even higher at 100 yards. :???: The rear sight is adjusted all the way down, so I am going to have to get a taller front sight.

But I think this bullet/powder combo is a keeper!

Those iron sights are going to be a challange! You wouldn't happen to have a laser sight you could attach to the gun for load testing? You might try a large black square with a white centre for a target.

How do you get the cig paper patches on? I found it to be quite difficult. I did find a way to wrap it wet. But then after all that I got shotgun patterns at 50yds! (That was 303 Brit though).

I'll be looking forward to your next target pics.:drinks:

I place the wet paper on a mat, position the bullet on the wet paper and roll.

Sure makes it easy to get the velocity and accuracy you want, doesn't it?

If you take .87" (the size of your 25-yd. group) and multiply it by 4 (to predict the size of a 100-yd. group) you get 3.4".
Since that is just about what your actual group size was, I'd say your eyes are not interfering very much with your 100-yd. sight picture.

You just haven't found that 1 MOA load yet...

Yep it does. Heck, I can't see why I would go back to jacketed again.

Heck, I can't see why I would go back to jacketed again. That's my view! I feel guilty shooting J-words! There's no fun in it![smilie=1: Actually, I've never before had so much fun with a gun without even firing it!:Fire: And that's without yet finding the 'right' combination.
