I never did any heavy duty case forming before. A friend asked for my help in forming 45-60 from 45-70's. I have a bonanza coax press-plenty of power. I figure start by annealing the cases. What lube should I use?? Thanks.

I have made hundreds of 40/65 cases from 45/70. I do it in two steps. I wipe the case off and relube between steps. It eliminates oil dents.

STP is probably the best forming case lube I have ever used. Imperial case wax works well as does Pioneer case lube. STP is the champ but you need a solvent dampened rag to remove the lube. I've done lots of full length sizing with Lee case lube (diluted it with water and made a dip - did hundreds at a time) but I have never tried it for case forming. It might work fine, just don't know.

If you are making 45-60's all you should have to do is trim the 45-70 cases down to 1.89 inches.

good luck,
