I am somewhat new to casting (tried a few years back with no luck at all) and would like to thank everyone here for their great knoledge and wisdom. I recently fired up the pot again and was able to produce my first productive batch of boolits with about a 90% usable rate. This was up from my privious 10-15%. The mould is a Lee six banger TL452-230-2R. straight W-W alloy average weight 229.5gr lubed with liquid alox. shot great at 825fps from 5.5gr Unique and CCI #300 in my Springfield 1911. It is always nice to hear that a new caster is off on the right foot and getting good results. Bullet casting is not particuarily difficult, but it does involve more knowledge and technique that loading condom bullets. So often, folks give it a try and give up. I am truly glad you stuck with it long enough to break the code. The results are worth the learning curve.
