A first for me!

I went to the range last evening to shoot the Russian 91/30. I had my first dud primer. In about 35 years of reloading that was the first primer that did not go bang. I tried to fire it twice and nothing. I never thought to deprime it seperately to see if it was missing the anvil. A CCI primer...Ray

A few weeks ago, a Winchester large pistol primer failed to ignite. Like Ray, I forgot to seperate it, prior to depriming. First experience in almost 15-years.

I shoot a lot and I have had maybe a dozen primer failures in the 40 years I have been reloading. Mostly Federal.

Had my first one yesterday with Wolf Large Pistol. Made a nice little dent but no bang. Must be something in the atmosphere or a conspiracy!

Have had CCI SP primers not work.

One time in 30 years. 9mm. Can't remember if it was CCI or Winchester.

Maybe a dozen times in nearly 50 years of reloading. Also had a few duds with percussion caps, never however with musket caps.
