432-350 GC RF Group Buy is Now Open.

SwedeNelson (Al) asked me to honcho this Group Buy so that he could spend more time in the shop producing molds and less time on the paperwork. These molds will be produced by Night Owl Enterprises (NOE).

This Group Buy is for a 432-350 Gas Checked Round Flat Nosed boolit that is a lube groove copy of the Ranch Dog TLC 432-350 RF bullet designed for the 44 Magnum rifle and 444 Marlin rifle.

The 432-350RFGC Group Buy will close on September 15th. If we don’t have 15 orders by then, the close date will be extended until we do.

Flat Nosed Boolit

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/picture.php?albumid=170&pictureid=1076

Moulds will be machined from 2024 Aluminum
Used for high strength structural and aircraft applications.
Tensile strength range 30,000 to 63,000 psi
Sprue plate (blued), alignment pins, and hardware will be
carbon steel.

The cost will be as follows:

Single cavity mould $68.00 Ea.
Double cavity mould $72.00 Ea.
Three cavity mould $79.00 Ea.
Four cavity mould $85.00 Ea.
Five cavity mould $92.00 Ea.

Shipping and handling will be $10 per order and shipped priority mail. If you live outside the United States contact me, and I will work with you.

Hollow pointing one cavity and furnishing a double ended pin would be $35.00 extra.
If you want to fashion different HP profiles, an extra blank pin would be $1.50

Lead time is 4-5 weeks after Group Buy closes. Tooling will be ordered once we get to 15 paid orders so don’t delay.

Instructions for using the Group Buy order system page are HERE (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=56550).

Use the Group Buy order system HERE (http://www.groupbuys.dnsalias.com/login.asp) to place your order. Use the link provided or use the link at the bottom of the page. Print two copies of the order sheet and mail both to me with your payment. Once we are ready to go, I will place the order with NOE. The molds will be shipped to me and I will distribute them. I will accept bank check, money order or PayPal + 3%. If using PayPal contact me first.

We can get gas checked and non gas checked cavities cut in the same mould. Specify on the order sheet what your preference is.

The mold is machined to use LEE Commercial 6-Cavity handles (not included).
A Lyman, RCBS type top punch is furnished with each mould as well as a sample of Bull Plate sprue plate lube.

Visitors from other forums are welcome to participate in this group buy.

I think this will be a GREAT BOOLIT for the 444 Marlin. Not so sure about a .44 Mag though as there would not be much room left in the case for powder. But at the .325 of the nose and a trim length of the .44 Mag of 1.280 it will function in a .44 Mag Marlin with an AOL of 1.605 with room to spare.

At times like this I wish I had a 444 Marlin but my 45-70 Marlin will just have to do.:)

I already KNOW it's a fine bullet for the 444 !

I was fortunate enough to get one of Ranch Dog's test molds for this bullet and have shot it quite a bit in a slow twist Micro Groove barreled 444 !

So with that being said I think I need a 5 cavity of this but also need to decide if I want a single cavity hollow point as well !

So lets see that would be $92 for a 5 cavity and another $68 for a single cavity with an additional $35 for hollow pointing plus $10 to ship with a pair of top punches included !
For a grand total of $205 .

I suppose I better start counting pennies and quickly [smilie=1:

Incidently I've been afforded the oppurtunity to get in on a Damage Control Permit hunt for black bear here in VA in the next week or so on a friends peach orchard .

I sighted in one of my old Marlin 444's with the tumble lube grooved version of this bullet from my Ranch Dog test mold !

Without a doubt if I get an oppurtunity for a decent shot this bullet will be up to the task :drinks:

I do hope this buy will go ahead and take off so I can get the 432350 HP mold in time to use this season !

I've already had a good field test with the Mihec 433-295 HP on whitetail deer !

And I have another rifle set up with the Lyman 429640 HP Devastater bullet . With luck I'll have tried the Lyman bullet on a deer within the next 2 weeks . [smilie=1:

Joe,
Current orders and zip codes of payments received are listed in the second post of thread. So far we have orders for 1, 2, 4, and 5 cavity molds. It really just depends on what you want. 1 and 2 cavity molds are lighter, 4 & 5 cavity molds have a higher production rate. 3 cavity if you want in the middle. [smilie=1:

Let me know which you want and I will get you on the list.

And with that being said it'll be next july before we get to this point with the Ranch Dog 432-300GC !

I'd still like a 5 cavity 432-300GC , a single cavity HP of the same thing and last but not least a single cavity HP of the Ranch Dog 432-265GC :bigsmyl2:

I've never casted bullets like this one that have so many lube grooves. What is the procedure for lubing these bullets? Do you lube all the grooves or just some of them? My lube & size dies have 3 rows of holes. Thx for the info.

The amount of lube grooves makes no difference you just set the die so it doesn't put lube in the crimp groove and do the same as any other bullet . Sometimes you may have to run them into the die more then once to fill out or either keep a lot of pressure on the lube reservior .

I failed to mention earlier !

I've been doing some "Damage Control Hunting" on a friends peach orchard for black bear and whitetail deer !

I got a pretty fair sized deer back a few weeks ago with the Ranch Dog 432-350GC bullet . Shot it with 45 grains of H322 and a CCI200 primer . I used a slow twist Micro Grooved 444 so I water quenched the WW bullets as they dropped from the mold .

Obviousely the deer was no match for this bullet . I had been using it in hopes that one of the black bear we were able to take would walk out in front of me .

Using my excellent skills at math, it seems that a single cavity mold with hollow point including shipping would be $113. Is that correct? I am interested, but I have to figure out if that is something I can afford right now. I would like it very much in my .444 Marlin this fall.

SciFiJim
09-03-2009, 10:48 AM

Still on the fence, and have question. This is a larger boolit so heat control starts to become important. What are the mould block sizes. Are they different for each # of cavities? Two different sizes? I have a 3 cavity 311407 but no other sizes.

Don't need exact sizes. Just don't want to get say a five cavity instead of a four if they are the same size block.

If that didn't make any sense let me know and I'll try to explain better. I'm better with pictures than words. But only with a pencil I'm an analog man.

SciFiJim
09-12-2009, 09:03 AM

Yes, there are five different sizes of blocks. The five cavity mold will be larger (and heavier) than the four cavity mold.

6pt-sika
09-12-2009, 09:40 AM
While I haven't recieved one of Swedenelsons molds yet in a 5 cavity , I do have several 6 cavity Lee and NEI molds . Those and the Swede molds are all machined from aluminum and a 6 cavity Ranch Dog 460=350GC isn't that heavy to cast with , so a 5 cavity 432-350 shouldn't be either I my opinion .

Lead time is 4-5 weeks after Group Buy closes.

This means that in 4-5 weeks they will be manufactured, shipped to me, individually repackaged, and then shipped to those that ordered them. This one should be easy to reship, there are only twelve to repack. I could do that in one evening.

On the other hand, there are 37 of the 454424 molds that will need to be repacked for shipping. That might take a couple of evenings.

So then like I said in a post earlier we should have in hand the first week of november . Since it's now the last week of september , atleast 4 weeks in october and the first week of november makes over 5 weeks easily .

Jim:

You are the master of understatement ! :) :)

Not only are the NOE moulds VERY finely crafted they are coming off of the "assembly line" at a rapid pace !

If you look at all of the variation NOE allows on these buys they are essentially making custom one-off moulds!

I own several and they are all flawless !

Congratulations to Al and his crew for a job VERY well done!
