I don't know about the dacron. If I remember right, in "The load" Harris does not recommend the use of fillers, including dacron.

He stopped recommending it because of it's IMPROPER use can ring a chamber. You fill the space between the powder and the base of the bullet with it or any filler...NOT pack it over the powder as a wad.
