It looks like the only 2 cavity Lee mold that Midway has in stock is the 158 gr round nose, this seems to say that this stlye is not to popular.
Is there a problem with this type or is it a good all around boolit.
Thanks

Round nose are usually pretty accurate, but not a great hunting boolit. It also is hard to measure group sizes as it more or less tears a hols from the center. It does not punch out a round hole like a wadcutter or semi wadcutter. Even a flat nose makes a more defined hole in the target.

I have cast and shot RN boolits in my 38/357 for 20 years, however my favorite is the Lyman 358665 RNF. I like the shape and it works better in speedloaders than the SWC designs that I also cast. You won't be disapointed in the RN design, it was a standard design for 38 spl. in police loads for years. Check Mid South Shooters Supply for the Lyman, Lee moulds, I got three from them last week. Lock Stock and Barrel is another good place to check on mould availablity. Good luck!

Round nose bullets/boolets are WONDERFUL, --

as long as the target doesn't NEED shooting.

Lee two cavs sit on the shelves probably because the six cavs are more productive and don't cost all that much more. Some unpopular boolits are only made in two cavity, like my 214 gr 44swc.

LEE six cavities produce a mountain of boolits in short order. I love 'em!!

Hello.
I have the LEE TL 358-158-2R. I bought it for speed loader use in my S&W 27 and I shoot it in my RUGER Blackhawk too. It shoots nearly as well as my RCBS KEITH design and my LYMAN KEITH 173grs. Holes in paper are very similars due to the shape of the shoulder. The ogive seems to be sticked on a wad cutter. Very good mold for the price !
