I just cast some some bullets in a lee 120 grain truncated cone lee mold they dropped from the mold alittle less than .356 and weighed in around 127 grains. I plan on loading with win 231 powder since it is what I have on hand. I'm having trouble finding load data for the particular bullet and powder combo. Does anyone know the starting load and the min OAL? Thanks for the help.

Might help if you had mentioned the cartridge, and maybe the firearm to be shot in...

Have you slugged the barrel? Might find that the boo's are undersize, and that would be a concern...

(Actually, I guess it would be more correct to call them boolit's, as in small boo's - 45-70's shoot boo's...)

Try this load be sure and start at the lower charge and work up to what works good in youre particular gun (W-231 From 3.2 grains to 5.4 grains
CCI-500 Primer)

3.9 grs of 231 (HP38) at 1.125 is what I like in that weight.

I loaded 4.0 grains for many years. Be careful not to over crimp. Use a light tapper crimp. I had a good friend who way over crimped this load and it became a high pressure load.

Please save yourself some trouble and slug the bbl.

9mms, esp Euro9s (which the Ruger is not one, obviously), have pretty commonly
done very poorly with .356 diam boolits, and very often do very well with .357 diam.

Look up any 120 or 124 gr load for 9mm Para, start 10% lower and work up while
watching for problems or pressure signs. Expect lead to provide lower pressure than
jacketed, so data for 124 jacketed should be safe for 120 lead - lighter boolit and less
friction with bore should equal less pressure. Using 115 gr jacketed data for 120
lead would be less safe, but reducing a tad more than 10% may give you a useful
starting point. Always start low and work up in moderate steps.

The weight and size strongly suggest you are casting with something close to pure lead. An alloy with more antimony in it will drop the weight and increase the diameter.

My SR9 slugs (the grooves not the bore [talking about slugging the groove makes me feel dirty somehow]) at 0.356 on the nose. It shoots 0.357 bullets well, but I haven't tried anything skinnier.

Two great pieces of advice here. Also agree with several people who suggest slugging and sizing .001" over (as long as you check that so-sized and so-loaded, the rounds will seat fully into the chamber).

As far as your load goes, that is my most-common load for the 9mm. (Actually, I've switched to a custom 135gr version of the 123gr Saeco 115 spire-point.) I load 4.4grs of W231, but when I was loading 123gr version, depending on the burning rate of the particular lot of W231 I was using, I had to go up to 4.7grs to get reliable functioning on occasion.
