I'm going to be in Houston next week. Is there anything there that I should check out? Any good stores to go to? I'll have my truck, so I'll be mobile.

Thanks,

Grab a phone book and look for "houston collectable firearms" A DEFINATE must see stop.
we went to an indoor firing range there too that rents full auto stuff. I don't remember the name of the place, but if you do an internet search for houston machinegun rentals it should come up.
For the BEST steak in Houston, go to "The Taste of Texas" They have a $1000 bounty for anyone who can bring them a better steak than they cook.
If you want cajun food, go to "The ragin cajun" restaurant. They sell their crawfish by the pound.

Collector's Firearms is the place. Look over their website before you go. They have a lot of rare stuff.

Most of us are down on chain stores but I went to the Bass Pro Shop outside Houston in "06and they had a fireplace with carved doo-dads like my wife wanted on sale for 1/3 list. I asked if they shipped and got the usuall run around when a good looking 30 some manager ended up talking to me. She confirmed they would ship to Montana and I bought it. I figured the 8% extra was sales tax so I asked how much shipping was after I paid. She patted me on the arm and said "Honey you don't worry none about that and we won't neither".

Hey! I'd forgotten the name of Carters Country. That's where I bought my first Rockchucker Press (lost it in a fire) and I still have the scale, lube pad, 30-06 dies, and funnel from the kit (they were on a lower shelf of a cabinet with the door closed, the press was mounted to the top of the bench) Lived at Hockley in 1980. They had a firing range and were catching a lot of heat because the area was being developed rapidly. This was the store near Spring.

Treaschwig Road store. I'd call it Humble though carters calls it Spring. I lived in Spring. Range was still there last time I looked.
