Has anybody tried using "NEVERSEEZE" or "ANTISEEZE" ???????

These are high temperature lubes but seem to work great on threads, when you don't want somthing to stick- metal to metal.

Be careful with neverseeze. (Like a million ballbearings) It is great stuff, but don't let it get on anything that you don't want it to stay on for a long time. Like your hands or fingers. Later Don

I have used antiseize to lube molds because it goes to incredibley high temps before getting runny!

However dolang1's warning should be taken seriously: a q-tip's worth will cover a small car!

About 10 years ago I came home from work and when I made the turn to head down the street I saw the "Tin Man" from the wizard of oz working on his truck in front of the house.

Turned into my BIL ( wife's brother) who was attempting to put new spark plug wires on his old chevy pick up. He wasn't able to find the large tube of dielectric grease I keep for just such work but he did find the 8oz. tube of antisize.

Decided it must work just as well, since both were slippery, and he proceeded to use it instead of the dielectric grease.

Half a tube of antisize covered the hood and fenders of the truck in a silver tint, the inside fender wells, all 8 spark plug wires , the valve covers, the spark plugs, the distributor cap (inside and out) and his person from the Knees to the top of his head!

As I said he looked like the tin man when I pulled up.

The kicker was he was only wearing shorts!

The tough part was getting him to stop smoking long enough to wash the antiseize off with a little gas!

Suffice it to say two things came out of it:
First I found out how far a tube of that stuff will really go.
Second the BIL would never touch another tube of antisize for the rest of his life!

Take heed of this story and becareful with antiseize!

I like to use Brownell's Action Lube Plus. This stuff will go further than antifreeze paste with out the nasty clean up. I use it on almost anything that slides, glides, or has a hinge point. The 2 oz container I bought I don't know how many years ago barely shows a dent in it. Put it on with a q-tip and go sparingly.

...Great Stuff :Fire:

I apply it to pistol slides with the fat end of a flat toothpick.
