Here is a youtube video of a hunt in Australia that might be a culling operation. Lynn is using both a Ruger Redhawk, and a Super Redhawk in .44 mag in this video. Pretty impressive.

That was one heck of an active hunt.

I wonder how many people and how long it took to skin & quarter all of that game?

Hand guns here in Australia are restricted to clubs use only the same as Canada. But you can own an hand gun for use on a large property. Australia is made up of states and territories. The laws are a little different in the territories. This video looks like it was shot in the Northern Territory (central north). I think a hunting tour operators can get a special permit to use hand guns. Very intensive video but well edited - there is a lot you don't see.:Fire::Fire:

It's a dern shame that a .44 Magnum is not an adequate gun for medium to large game...[smilie=1:.LOL LOL

I have been a fan of the .44 Magnum for many years. In this area, our "big" game is whitetail deer. They do get rather large around here (corn and bean fed) and can weigh upwards of at least 250 lbs.

My choice of bullet is a Keith 250 gr SWC ahead of a healthy (but safe) charge of H110.

Thanks for sharing this video clip with us, I enjoyed it.

There is a note in the information that says they were shooting their favorite Hornady ammunition. Doesn't say which load.

Shooting cape buffalo with a 44mag will only pi$$ them off. You might knock them down but they will get up in a hurry and chase you - they are very dangerous and can kill you easy. They didn't tell you there was a guy behind the camera with a .375 H&H or .458 Win mag.

Lynn uses the hornady xtp 300 grain hollow point, i have the dvd, it is a great vidio, lots of shooting, and very good shot placement... he uses a ruger redhawk, and a super redhawk with 7 1/2 inch barrels.

most of the buffalo required at least two shots.

My son is in the Navy and visited Lynn's business on a knife procurement assignment. Lynn gave all the guys copies of his videos so I've seen both of his adventures in Aus. Very cool. RD
