Try Mountain Molds. Everyone I've talked to says that their wonderful.

If you just wanting to buy those boolits, then good luck finding a source. You're probably just going to have to front the money for a mold.

I was hoping to find someone to make them to start with.I'm going to use them in a double rifle and want to see if I can regulate it with them before I spend the money for a custom mold

40 caliber rifle bullets for 40-65 Winchester and such are .409". RCBS makes molds in 300, 350 and 400 grain. Suppose a person could run them through a .401" die as used for 10mm pistol.

I had a fellow ask me last week if I'd cast him some boolits in Lyman 40 cal snover if he'd buy the mold. Well of course I said yes. But hard to say when he'll show up with the mold. If ever.
It's a 400 grain bullet. You probably wouldn't have tight enough rifling twist to stabalize it if you've a 58 caliber bore or something.

You might check with the link at bottom of page to the bullshop.

Also Buffalo arms would have some paper patch 40 caliber bullets that would fit. http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/2,97.html

I plan on using them in two different rifles. One has new barrels chambered in 45-90 the other is a 577-450,

I see. Well the 577-450 I could see using sabots. But with a 45-90 it would seam an exsersize for naught. if I could make a sugestion. Can you get a sabot for the 577 to take a 45 caliber bullet you could load into the 45-90 case? Just shoot paper pach or grease grove 45's then sabot the same bullet fo rthe 577. You'll need to know the twist rate of the 577-450. to determine what length bullet you can use. It may be you don't want to shoot that light of bullet.

both take a 45 cal sabot which should have a 40 cal bullet

Thanks for the tip on buffalo arms, they had a 360 gr paper patch mould so I ordered one in 401 diameter and having a .400 sizer made by Lee.I'm new to this but I assume sizing a bullet down a hair will make for a better bullet.
