I've always cast with lee molds and thanks to this forums tips ive never had any problems. Until recently ive used 2-Cavity molds they all produce nice heavy boolits and it takes a little effort to shove them thru either a lee sizer or lyman either one. With the 6-cavity its a lot looser thru the sizer but it still shaves a good clean shiny band from the boolit. I havent had the chance to shoot any of the 6's yet but they should be ok since they size out right shouldnt they? I've noticed this in 2 9mm molds a 40 and 2 different 45s

Is the Lee 6 cavity the same as the 2 cavity? If it is, and they size the same and weigh the same, you should be good to go.

You should be fine, but- is your sizer actually "shaving" lead from the boolit? Or do you mean you are still getting a "sized" surface appearance? Lyman used to make sizing dies that would shave lead, regardless of whether the boolit was concentric or not. They were not good dies. The later dies had a tapered leade, much nicer.

Strawhat yeah the cavity is the same and its throwing within a gr of weight. Bret im using either lee or lyman sizing dies but he boolit appears to be concentric and either sizer appears to shave the same amount. Thanks, im on vacation this week so if i can stand the heat im going to take some to the our outdoor range.

are you getting a ring of lead dropping off, if not you are swageing the bullet not shaving.old lyman might but lee should not.:coffee:[smilie=1:
