staring at my die shelf this morning, I decided to count 'em and assess the progression of this disease! now I don't have guns for quite all them, and through trades and buying guns used with the dies I have wound up with 2 die sets in a few calibers, ...but what the heck, I'll stop making excuses, I have 68 full length die sets, not counting special forming or seating dies...I'm hoping someone here has this disease worse than me......[smilie=1::mrgreen:

Got me beat. I was rearranging everything the other day and counted right at 40 sets.

I came up with just over half that many- 35- complete sets. I may come up with a few more, but probably not more than five.
Then there are neck sizers, formers, different types of seaters, etc.

Don't know but there's more than I have calibers to load for. Doubt I can beat 68 and not going to count 'em. Let's see, there's the 22 Hornet - 2 sets; 218 Bee - RCBS and 310 dies; 222 Rem. which I've never owned; 223 two sets RCBS and Truline Jr. dies; 22-250 - which I've never owned; 243 Win - RCBS and Truline Jr. two sets; 25 Auto; 25-20 - Lee and Lyman 310 dies; 250 Savage - RCBS and Lyman 310 tool dies; I think there's a set of 257 Rbts. 310 dies, I know there's a steel 310 tool so marked and I've never had a 257 Rbts. either; 270 Win. dies; 280 Rem dies; 7mm Rem. mag - two sets, had one briefly once, never shot it;.....
and.....and...and.......... but guns? No, I don't have no stinkin' guns! Regards, Woody

Total right now is 7. I had 2 Lachmiller and 1 CH set since the mid 60s. Earlier this year, I bought 3 Lee sets. I just bought a Lyman set. I don't use 1 of the Lachmiller sets and will probably sell it. I used to save everything, damn habit that's hard to break. Now, I can't see keeping stuff that I don't use.

You guys forced me to actually inventory the stock-
I've just counted 57 complete sets of full length dies, with forming dies, trim dies, specialty seating dies, etc in addition to that-
How long do I have to live?
In all reality, many, many of these date back to my varmint shooting days, wildcatting days, and earlier times. If any member has a burning desire to try or own something that I don't often use, just ask- I will share with members of this clan-
Even with the above count, I find I own rifles that I don't yet load or cast for-- Is this a sign I need more reloading equipment?

12 dies sets plus some odds and end dies like expander dies and such.

I don't keep extra's or sets I don't reload for. Seems some one always has a need for a set and I'll trade them off to help someone out if I can.

I have 9 not counting the one double I have. The expander dies I keep in the boxes that I use them for and I also store my trim shell holder and my shell holder in each box along with some deprimed set up brass. I have necking dies on order and also not counting my primer hole swaging set and the primer removing die so I don't have to resize to remove primers.

Mike in co. has made me feel a little better. I was kinda' afraid that bullet casters prolly had this disease wors'n anybody. Have ya' ever bought a big box of reloading stuff at an estate sale that had some dies in it that you didn't have a gun for ,so you went out and bought a gun in that caliber? Have any of your neighbors thought the wiring was on fire in your house because of the foul smoke drifting out of your back yard that had burnt rubber smell to it (from valve stems)? Have folks had to slam on thier brakes to keep from runnin' over ya' when you were crawling around by the curb on your hands and knees pickin' up wheel weights? Have you ever wandered aimlessly around the mall parking lot staring at the ground until security came and questioned you? Are you afraid you'd get in trouble if you carried pliers? Have you ever thought about casting air rifle pellets?
Such a simple disease with so many complicated symptoms. [smilie=1:

73 sets and getting less every day. I have decided to get rid of all the sets I have sold the guns that needed them and don't think i'll ever own again. I know that's probaly a big mistake. I got my first set of dies with a single shot break action 375 h&h mag I bought at a farm auction when I was 16. worst $75 I ever spent. I have been spending money on catsting and reloading stuff ever since. is now 17 years later and I still have that rifle, dies & mold. just burned the last of that 15 pound keg of powder last winter. not a bad addiction at all. thanks for letting me go on & on.

I counted up the calibers that I either do or can load for before I came overseas, and it was 36, IIRC. I do have a few sets of duplicate dies, though, so lets call it 40, give or take. I have dies for cartridges that I have no gun for and never intend to; I picked up several of them from an estate.

I own 3 Lee Enfield rifles and have a set of FL dies for each one, but I plan to sell 2 of the die sets off once I return to the States. I really, really like the Lee collet die for that cartridge, so I'll probably assemble a 'truly deluxe' die set with it, the Redding body die I bought in that flavor, and one of the FL die sets that I have.

Mike in CO - hi there blood brother. Over 20 550 tool heads, approx 60 die sets, enough powder measures, tricklers, single stage, turret, full progressive, and H-style presses for me and at least 5 other people ( NONE FOR SALE OR TRADE ).

Remember Venturino's column on "Handloader Looney" in Handloader several years ago? Nailed me and I'm sure a bunch of others from this forum!

I keep telling my wife that somebody has to keep the reloading companies in business. She just feels like I shouldn't try to do it by myself. Oh well.

I got mine from a fellow member here. I don't understand why Lee discontinued them, or why they ignore 257 Wby. it has to be more popular than some of the others they do. You could check with Buckshot and see what it would cost to make one. I need to get him to cut down a 300 Wby. trim guage and pick up some of his nose punches.
