This is probably a stupid question but can you shoot 308 win out of a 308 norma mag gun?

Better to ask and be sure than to try it and blow up a rifle and possibly injure yourself or someone else.

Like Robert said, stupid would be NOT asking. No harm done.

The only stupid question is,
The one not asked and acted upon!!!
These guys here, don't mind the "stupid" questions. I sure asked a lot, and they cuffed me when I needed it.
Made some friends here.

that was smart. my son was buying a 700 rem 7 mm rem magnum and the store gave him ammo, one rd was 270 and the rest 7 mm rem mag ultra.big difference
they replaced the shatttered stock.thats the minumum damage with wrong ammo
you would be safe as the rd would not chamber.:coffee:[smilie=1:

Jay,
As most have mentioned here, the "stupid" question is the unasked question.

You might be interested in lookin at these two pictures that show the dimensions of both cartridges. I seriously doubt that the firing pin could strike the primer in the scenario you asked about.

I'll be back in Columbus in about a month - early August. Maybe we can get together or phone then.
