I have an InvestArms/Cabelas Hawken Wannabe.
The Hawken Shop at one time made an all steel furniture upgrade kit. It was a steel buttplate, nosecap, trigger guard.
It fit like a charm. I especially liked the longer buttplate nose. Also, the angle of the buttplate once fitted canted the barrel a little more downwards so I could see the sight better.
When I put one on my identical Hawken Wannabe years ago, it fit like a glove. Looked great browned, and refinished.
I want to find for my new Hawken Wannabe, same rifle, the components in brass instead of steel.
I tried Dave at Track of the Wolf, and Hunter at Dixie, and both of them are confused. I am certain, the steel buttplate and nose cap, are also made in brass as they once offered it.
Anyone have any ideas? I cannot even find the kit anymore. I found it three weeks ago, but now cannot find it.

hmmm... lots of sites that sell components for muzzleloaders, I've purchased from a number of them, but can't say I know if any have the parts you describe. Do you subscribe to either Muzzleloader, or Muzzleblast? Lot's of companies advertise there, as well as some small scale custom builders.

Good luck!

Well, here is the scoop.
Track of the Wolf, Dixie Gun Works, The Hawken Shop all have the kit. I contacted the Hawken shop and essentially they do not make the corresponding parts in brass. Their logic is appropriate. Sam Hawken made only a few rifles with Brass furniture. They were the specials.
In this approach, The Hawken Shop only makes the kit in steel. Steel is good.
The reason for this kit is the InvestArms/Cablelas Hawken Wannabe and other import Hawken Wannabes have a particular cant to the stock. I have tried the other buttplates and they just do not fit. It is not reshapeing, I have to do that with the steel furniture kit. It is the lines are off with those rifles. The Steel Furniture kit fits amazeingly well and the lines really change. It feels better with that kit installed.
The closest buttplate, which I have tried before, is too wide. Too much metal has to be filed down and it makes the "point" on the comb too much of a cut.
To do the upgrade, I install the toe plate first. Then I file the toeplate, and then the buttstock to fit the metal. There is some fitting of the metal down to the wood. I will have to refinish the stock. Since I have blueing, I will do that instead of browing. I like browning, and I find the Dixie Gun Works browning solution to really produce a good brown. Deep, rich, and not purple. Once it is "fixed", to an extent, when it is scratched it is self healing. To an extent.
Down the road, I will make one from scratch, or rather a kit. Parts ready to inlet.
I know, I have an hard time useing the rear sight with the stock the way it is, with the steel furniture kit, it changes the angle slightly and the rear sight is easier to see. I do not use the rear sight that comes with the kit. That is way too low for me.
