While out Snooping and Pooping today I visited G&G Recycling in Dickinson, North Dakota for the first time. I have read several times on this forum that there several shooters that want Zinc, mainly for casting cannon balls. G&G just recieved 10,000 pounds of gas meters that are cast from zinc. G&G is closing down their recycling business so you may possibly make a good deal. They informed me that I got there just too late to get any lead. They had just sold 20,000 pounds consisting of approximately 50% wheel weights with the remainder being linotype. They sold the lot for 35 cents a pound. Dang!!!! I'm a day late as usual. If anyone is interested their phone number is 701-483-5501.
That is a lot of zinc! Neil

Check them out. The old meters were referred to as "tin meters". These were a cast zinc/tin meter with sweated seams rather than held together with screws. The soldered seams should melt off of the zinc and be considered 50-50, the internal guts as far as diaphrams, cranks and gears and slides should be less than 5 lbs each, probably closer to 3 lbs, the remainder is metal. PM me if you have any questions.

The loss of the 20,000# of WW and Lino makes me want to cry. Have any idea where they went?
