I can't seem to find any loads for 40/50 Sharps BN using smokeless powder. I think that Pet Loads by Ken Waters may have some but I don't have access to my copy right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The RCBS 300 gr. CSA boolit, sized .409" or 0.410" and cast soft, is excellent in the 40-50BN. Try SR4759. 14.4 gr gives 973 fps which shoots to the Shiloh sights. 20.0 gr. gives 1,292 fps and 23.3 gr. gives 1,546 fps. You can go a little higher, but shouldn't.

...............Hey Tim. Will miss seeing you and the missus in Winnemucca this year. If you would, I'd appreciate it if you'd give powderburner a wet willy for me 8) Or maybe I could get Urny to do it?

I have some data from a different source for the 40-60 Winchester, which is close to the same capacity as the 40-50 SBN, if you want that. Lists only a couple different powders then these above.

Buckshot, Thanks for the info. I'll just let Powderburner know you are thinking of him. I am sorry your schedule will keep you from Winnemucca this year. From the looks of around here it should be a good ground squirrel year at least for the shooting. Since these loads are for my dad and his 74 mid range he picked up over 50 years ago I will try them in the roller first. and again thanks to you and 45 2.1
