Easy hollow point jig

After modifying a seater plug with JB Weld to better fit a cast boolit I ran a drill bit down through the seater plug vent hole to vent the newly filled part of the seater. I wanted a clean hole where the bit broke through so I placed the seater over the boolit and proceeded to drill through the vent hole with a matching size bit in my drill press. Sure enough the hole was nice and clean where it went through the JB Weld. When I looked at the boolit, it had a perfectly centered hollow point. This has got to be one of the easiest methods of drilling centered hollow points that I have come across. All seater plugs aren't vented, but they can be had pretty cheap.

Of course the "full length Hollow Point" does make then real easy to store on a wire.[smilie=1:

You could always thread the HP from the base and screw in a SS Bolt. Instant AP round.

PMC did a line of .38SP ammo like that. Bullets were a tube and weighed about 85gr.

I have a few of the 44 spec they also made

Not exactly sure just how well they worked , but they tumbled after 25 yds

They're for those of us that forget to load the powder before we seat a boolet. I just cant find a powder funnel that small. Or corks that will stay in.:mrgreen:

There was some off the wall brand that made ring bullets like that. They were loaded in a sabot. I stumbled across them when trying to find a 45 cal cartridge that would be legal on chucks in NJ. It's a long story, but boy, did I aggravate a game warden when I showed up with that thing. I had some 30-30's loaded with 90-grain XTPs too. They just didn't know what to do with me.
