Mould lubing

Today, the shipment of Bullplate sprue lube finally arrived.

I lubed the mould according to the instructions and started casting, but then I started to wonder:

Should I repeat the lubing of the mould top and sprue plate during the casting session?

I was using a Lee 6 banger and I had to touch the alignment pins a couple of times (with Lee solid alox - will use Bullplate next time).

But I had no sign of smearing despite casting rather fast, so I'll guess the mould/sprue plate only need to be lubed at the start of each casting session?

It really depends on how much you cast and as needed thing. If you don't cast allot you might not even need it every session. I'm sure you'll figure it out as you go.
