Wondering how much a boolit shrinks, say in a 45 cal rifle mould, from the mould dimensions. If you want a .460" boolit with WW's, do you cut the mould at .461", .462" diameter, or what dimensions, so when the boolit cools to room temp. it is the correct diameter? Thanks

Different materials - different sizes

I will post my measures

for .453 as cast

- in steel .458
- in aluminum .456
- in brass .455

P.s. read this, too. (http://www.lasc.us/CastBulletNotes.htm)

Very good. How about a list for each caliber? I have the same problems when making my molds.

Wish I have one.....:-(

It would save me a lot of trouble

I believe you will find that it varies some on cutting diameter dependent on boolit design.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, that is the problem, different calibers need different size cherries due to different expansion and shrinkage rates.
