71/84 Mauser values

I have completely built (from the ground up) a 71/84.
I have a friend who bought one at a gun shop.
I know what he paid and am wondering if mine is anywhere close to his in value.
Neither are numbers matching (doubt any are anymore).
Is there a place to go to get some idea of the actual value of them?

And other gun auction sites. Enter "Mauser 71*" into the search engines on those sites.
A gun in great shape with matching numbers usually goes well North of $500-600, while non-matching guns would be around a half grand or so.
I was offered an absolutely mint '71/84 at the last gun show with matching numbers for $600. Regrettably, I couldn't justify it....

I have two one without stock and one with damaged stock.some tim last yr centerfire was selling 84 and 88 for $7.95 and $29.I dont know how many.and OWS had them.$600 seems right.you can make shells from 45/90 or shorter from 45/70.:coffee: [smilie=1:
