I enjoy shooting RN in my .38s and my .41s. I think it was Willbird who got me onto a .38 super surplus mold from lee.......156 gr RN. It is great for production and the boolit drops out at .3575" from my mold. I just lube them in my .358" die and load over a modicum of N320 or Titegroup for lots of fun. Good for squirrels out of my Marlin 1894C, too.

I just cast up my first coffee can of Lyman 410426, 240 gr RN last month. Over a generous helping of 2400 they ring steel pretty good but the Lyman accuracy load of 8.5 gr. Unique is a little more accurate.

Creeker--I have used the H&G #39 158 rn in my K38 for years. It is the most accurate bullet out of that gun including HBWC's. Another RN that is giving me good service is the now discontinued Lee 153 2R which I use in my Hipower 9mm. Very accurate and an easy casting bullet out of the Lee 6 banger. Nick

I have Lee and Lyman LRN molds for .45Colt, .45ACP, and 9mm Luger. I use them for CAS and general plinking with SWC being used for competition. Quantrill

One of my favorite pistol boolits is Lyman 452374, a 230 gr. RN similar in shape to the US military .45 ACP full metal jacket bulllet. Most of my rifle boolits are RN, or semi-spitzers.

I shoot a 146 gr RN out of my 38 Lever Action and my pistol. Nice 4 cavity Lyman mold.

The bullet I'm using is the Saeco 928. It's designed for the 38 Super but my mould will size .358 with die touching all round even when using straight air cooled wheelweights. Weight from 92-6-2 is 147 grs. A feature of this bullet I like it the equal forward and rear driving bands. It's very accurate and feeds well from speedloaders. It's a great target/shooting game bullet. I don't mean hunting unless the target is small game. It should work well for most games but doesn't cut neat holes in paper. This bullet also has a very small bevel at it's base to help when speedloading with the Dillon. Anyway just got my puter up and couldn't wait to post a picture. HEE HEE

I have fired lots and lots and lots...... through my 586. It was the only boolit I used for many years. RCBS, CBE moulds and Hawkesbury River commercial cast (Magma mould I think) good accurate boolits which fed into the cylinder from the speedloaders easily and quickly. Holes in the paper wern't as big or as clean, but there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

I picked up a 357 94 Win Trapper and used the last few hundred in that. They worked a treat as always, but I was glad when they were gone, I was keeping my left hand well forward on the forend.

I shoot bullseye mostly now through my K38 and have been using 140Gn Button nosed wadcutters. I will have to re-evaluate the ammo for the 586. I would be nice if I could use the same in both. It is never that easy it seems.

And in my high powers...
I really like a 71 grain cast r/n for the 32 acp in the 30 cal rifles. With from 4.5 to 6.5 of Red Dot or 4 to 6 of Unique they make an excellent small game and plinking round. In most of my rifles I can get 3/4" or better at 25 yards and they usually shoot close to POA.

Lynn..I am a big fan of RN bullets. I have never found a bullet that delivers better accuracy in 38 Specials than Lyman 358311

Hi KSCO,
I have had the same luck with that little bullet in 30-30. According to my records, I have used 7.5 gr. Unique for the same good accuracy at 25 yds. Even at 50 yds., it holds about 2" but shoots low. I usually set down & cast up a whole mess of the same bullet or maybe 2 different ones at the most. With that one, it took a long time to fill a Planters peanut short can to the halfway mark but that is one big bunch of bullets.
I also shoot the big long 311290 & it's a round nose design. I guess you could say that the round nose style is a bit more aerodynamic than the flatnoses but not so pointy that it will not line up in the bore as the long front rides the lands. That big bullet is a real accurate one even though the 311299 looks better in theory. Got enough moulds to keep me busy as it is without adding any more confusion.
