Curious, the WW clips (not the strips) that you are picking up recently or in the last year, is anyone reading Bhn 9 with the melted ingots? I'd even be interested to know if the reading was a Bhn 10 - 11 or 12

All mine start at Bhn 13 (over 800 lbs accumulated over the last 3 years) and a fella on the Cast Bullet Association forum sent me a PM that he is currently getting Bhn 9

Bhn 12 is what I have gotten the couple of time's I've had my bullets tested. My guess is that anyone getting bhn 9 is testing right after casting, and before they had a chance to do any age hardening.

I get 10-12BHN depending on when I test.

Got to wait at least 2-3 weeks before testing, then all of mine test at 12-13

I've gotten anywhere from 9-13 depending on how fast they cool. Someone on the board sent me some ingots once that came up around 19. When I re-poured them into smaller ingots they came up 12. The other guy's ingot molds must have been sitting in a snow bank or something.

Auto WW are softer than truck WW

Last batch of Auto WW was about 12 BH from memory
I have not retested the last batch of Truck WW

But they normaly run 14 or so

i think they have been mixing the straps and clip ons at the foundry's lately.
as i have seen some of the newer straps that are in the 9-10 bhn range.

Newer WWs run 9-10 BHN for me also. Never thought I'd "long" for "old" WWs. The newer ones with 2% tin added do run 12-14 BHN, the tin makes it different alloy is the reason.
