The 'new' Model 70. But I think it's more of just the name, since the company is actually owned by Browning, or the company that owns Browning, or something like that. It's a part of a huge conglomeration now.

FN bought the name and trademark, moved the production to South Carolina.

I believe FN is making the Model 70 now in Columbia SC.

Winchester has been out of the rifle business for more than 20 years. They licensed
the trademark to US Repeating Arms for a while, now to FN. FN makes Win
trademarked "Model 70s" in SC now. Actually, they never stopped, but just called them
FN Patrol Rifles for a year or two, and they were expensive mil spec type urban sniper
rifles.

Yeah, According to an article I read a while back FN will be or is making Mod 70's in a machine gun plant in SC. The only thing I do not recall is if the receivers are going to be made from forgings or cast. ? Mike
